"I have noted that persons with bad judgment are most insistent
that we do what they think best."
-- Lionel Abel

Most of us have been in meetings where we experienced that loud
know-it-all: someone who is used to getting his/her way from loud
and insensitive behavior. Some of us have even been that person!
Just because a person is the most forceful in the group doesn't mean
he/she knows what is best and what is right. The non-dominant voices
around us are worth hearing.

When we find ourselves getting more and more insistent that we are
right, it is time to take two steps back from the conversation, put
our hands in our pockets, open our ears, and think. Our own opinions
are just opinions, and rarely are they the only ones infused with
inspiration, creativity and good judgment.
