"Just trust yourself, then you will know how to live."
-- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
********************************************************************

We came into this world full of promise. Over time, we were
indoctrinated by layers of voices, and we became distanced from our
own core; that deep and eternal part of us.

Every day we are encouraged to believe that life will be perfect if
we try harder; that we can surely do things better, or faster. The
voices of popular culture, education, politics, and business wash over
us, giving us the notion that there is some perfect norm of correctness
that we should live up to.

We each have our own principles and possibilities, separate from the
"shoulds" in our head. Our principles come from our core and are
determined by our values -- by what we hold dear. When we honor our
principles, we will trust ourselves and our principles will lead us
in a direction that is good for us. Joy is cultivated when we make
decisions in harmony with the core of our heart, and as Goethe said,
"then we will know how to live."
