"The person who can laugh often, and who finds humor in even the
most stressful events, can keep going when others are falling beside
the way."
-- Nido Qubein

Several years ago a good friend was plunged into a family tragedy
when her husband died suddenly. I had never walked through such
with a friend and didn't know what to say or how to comfort her.
Except for sleeping, I stayed with her for three days. She had many
people in and out of her home before the funeral. What struck me was
how important laughter was for her. My friend told humorous stories
about her husband, and we all laughed and we all cried.
Even in times of personal tragedy, we can find humor. When our
hearts are breaking, a good laugh will give us a reprieve. Humor
is the glue that holds our hearts together.
