As we go about our everyday business at home or at work, people have 
expectations of us.  People expect us to listen, stop, go, yield, 
wait, try, help and hurry.  When we don't meet their expectations and 
when they are critical, we sometimes feel deflated and occasionally 
inferior in some way.  We might even feel as though we don't measure 
up.  We have no control over what people think of us.  We do have 
control over what we think of ourselves and what we say to ourselves.
