It is the privilege of wisdom to listen.
-- Oliver W. Holmes

Someone once said, "We are given two ears and one mouth so we can listen
twice as much as we talk." Many times when we are deep in conversation,
instead of listening we begin thinking of what we will say next. When we
stop listening and begin thinking, we have lost touch with the moment. We
can modify this tendency with a little effort. And it's worth it, because
the greatest gift we can give another person is our rapt attention.
